Abstract:
This study (N=31, mean age 10.13) found that children’s participation in reading occupations—measured by IRO-Pedi—was positively associated with reading preferences/habits, self-efficacy (progress), perceived autonomy, and value placed on reading, suggesting occupational therapists should work with schools and families to support reading engagement by addressing self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation.
