Abstract:
This study validates the Spanish version of the Digital Life Balance Scale (DLB-Scale) with 334 Spanish university students and examines its links to smartphone addiction, life satisfaction, and anxiety. The scale shows strong reliability, solid one-factor structure, and gender invariance. Higher digital life balance is associated with lower smartphone addiction and anxiety, and higher life satisfaction, explaining especially substantial variance in smartphone addiction. The DLB-Scale emerges as a useful tool for assessing digital balance and informing interventions to improve well-being and reduce digital stressors.
