Abstract:
A study proposing a “museum‑game engagement framework” to analyse how video games support museum visitor engagement and attract digital-native audiences, using two cases: the Louvre Nintendo 3DS audioguide and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Through qualitative game analysis and player questionnaires, it shows that both games effectively represent museum content, enable meaningful digital interaction, and motivate real‑world museum visits—Louvre 3DS by deepening interest in the Louvre itself, ACNH by fostering confidence and general museum curiosity through virtual museum creation—highlighting concrete implications for future museum–game collaborations.
