Abstract:
The book collects revised chapters from NLC2024 that together develop “networked learning” as a pedagogy of hope in times of rapid and often troubling change. Across the chapters, authors examine how digitally mediated learning networks are designed, experienced, and researched in higher and adult education, professional and community contexts. Empirical and theoretical contributions address issues such as collaboration and participation in online and hybrid environments, critical digital literacies, equity and inclusion, care and wellbeing, and the politics of platforms and data. Many chapters confront dominant crisis and dystopian narratives around technology, work, and the planet, while foregrounding concrete examples of relationships, practices, and designs that open up more just, sustainable, and inclusive educational futures.
