Abstract:
The paper examines how Kenya’s TVET system must integrate comprehensive digital literacy to address a growing skills mismatch in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Vision 2030. It shows that, despite policy recognition of digital skills and various initiatives, gaps in infrastructure and curriculum reform hinder effective implementation, leaving many graduates unemployed and underprepared for a labour market where most jobs will soon require digital competence. The paper argues that integrating digital literacy into TVET is essential for employability, technological upgrading and national competitiveness, and recommends stronger policy frameworks, targeted teacher training and substantial investment in digital infrastructure
