The Conference on BIPOC Game Studies (C-BIPOC) is a platform dedicated to exploring the intersection of gaming culture, technology, and the experiences of BIPOC communities worldwide. Our aim is to provide a space for scholars, game developers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to engage in critical discussions, share research findings, and foster collaboration in the field. Conference Themes include: Representation and Identity in Video Games Digital and Analog Games and Play as Cultural Artifact Fostering, analyzing and critiquing games about and from Black and Indigenous groups Decolonizing Game Development and Design Indigenous and Black Knowledge Systems and Gaming Afro futurism and Gaming Cultural Preservation and Digital Heritage Social Impact and Activism in Gaming Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Playful Technologies The conference organizing teams encourage submissions from the wide variety of games research and industry, including game studies, game design, game development, games and learning, player study, and more.
