The Twenty-Fifth International Conference on New Directions in the Humanities (University of Split, Croatia, 30 June–2 July 2027, with online participation) reflects on twenty-five years of exploring how the humanities interpret and reimagine the human condition. Under the theme “Archipelagos of Meaning,” it examines how humanistic inquiry connects diverse sites of meaning—places, communities, institutions, and everyday life—shaped by the Adriatic context and its histories of exchange, mobility, and environmental change. Sub-themes include engaged humanities and democratic culture, language and power, literature and cultural imagination, technologies of communication and AI, and place, community, and sustainable futures.
