This writing retreat brings together migration scholars to examine how frontline actors—border guards, immigration officers, social workers, and other street-level professionals—shape migration governance through everyday discretion, interpretation, and informal problem-solving. Through empirically and theoretically informed contributions, the retreat explores implementation practices, local adaptations, normative orientations, and accountability questions arising from street-level work, fostering peer-to-peer exchange and collaborative writing in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona (25–26 June 2026)
