Newcastle University is hiring a Research Associate for the four-year Horizon Europe LIL-ECHOES project, which examines how XR and AI are transforming culture, communication, identity, wellbeing and heritage. The role is divided between research and impact activities (60%) and project coordination and administration (40%). Responsibilities include conducting interdisciplinary fieldwork, analysing data, supporting Living Cultural Labs, coordinating project tasks, managing documentation, and contributing to publications and conferences. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field, experience with interdisciplinary research methods, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. Experience with XR/VR, participatory research, cultural organisations or Horizon Europe projects is desirable. The post is fixed-term until 31 August 2030 and requires a satisfactory DBS check.
