A full-time indivisible position, in the field of the Digital Mediation of Historical Data within the Department of Historical Sciences. This position includes teaching and research activities as well as services to the community. TEACHING ACTIVITIES Several of these activities are integrated into a new specialism in the Digital Transmission of Historical Knowledge, which will open in September 2025 and which the post-holder will lead. Asterisks indicate courses and activities to be created or reconfigured. Master’s level HIST0092-1 Critical analysis of the uses of digital for historians – 30 hours Th (specialised Master’s). HIST0085-1 Digital mediation of historical knowledge – 15 hours Th + 30 hours Pr (specialised Master’s). HIST0093-1 Memorial tourism and historical reconstruction, including the practical contribution of digital – 15 hours devoted to the contribution of digital in a collegial course [45 hours in total, two other joint- lecturers]. HIST0086-1 Contemporary historiographical debates – 15 hours in a collegial course, focussed on the uses of digital in history (core curriculum). HIST0083-1 Preparatory methodological seminar for drafting the final dissertation, including training on the challenges of artificial intelligence – 15 hours on AI from a total of 45 hours, joint-lectureship (core curriculum). PSTG0054 Specialised Master’s internship – coordination, management, and prospection amounting to 30 hours.Academic Affairs department – Postesacademiques@uliege.be JOB REFERENCE: PA250101 PA…. Bachelor’s level – general course in training in historical research HIST0082 Practical introduction to historical research, including an introduction to artificial intelligence and the challenges of digital in history, 60 hours in B1 (with the support of a part-time teaching assistant and a French language teaching assistant). TOTAL: 180 hours of classes + 30 hours of internship management = 210 hours. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES Research in the field of the digital mediation of historical knowledge. Promoting the results obtained in communications and publications (national and international level) and in the practical realisation of the digital mediation of historical knowledge. Scientific collaborations with colleagues in the Department of Historical Sciences, as well as with specialists in mediation and the digital humanities at ULiège. Integration into international scientific networks. Affiliation, if possible, within a research unit. More detailed specifications will be prepared in consultation with the selected candidate and the management of the chosen research unit. SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY Participation in the administrative life of the Department of Historical Sciences (councils, meetings, committees, activities to promote courses, etc.) On behalf of the Department and ULiège, participate in events and projects in the field of the digital mediation of historical knowledge. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED / PROFILES  Hold a doctorate related to the field of history.  Demonstrate a research background and publications in the field of the digital mediation of historical knowledge.  Demonstrate practical results in the field of the digital mediation of historical knowledge, both as author and designer.  Have experience in teaching history, at either undergraduate or graduate level.  Excellent knowledge of French. The profile being sought is that of a historian with expertise in analysis, the design and production of digital knowledge in all its forms, contributing to mediating historical knowledge.
