The 2027 IMISCOE Spring Conference calls for papers that critically examine how advanced digital technologies (ADTs) are transforming both migration governance and migration research. It focuses on (1) the ethical, political, and socio-economic implications of ADTs in border control, surveillance, platform labour, environmental costs, and migrant rights, and (2) how digitalization is reshaping methods, data practices, and research ethics in migration studies, with a strong emphasis on reflexive, interdisciplinary, and community-engaged approaches grounded in migrants’ lived experiences and EDI principles.

The Global Migration Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) - IMISCOE

Deadline: 15.07.2026
