This full-time PhD position (University of Antwerp, ERC project WALLS2BRIDGES) investigates how prison education programs and related media infrastructures in the United States shape access to education, communication, and justice for incarcerated people. The doctoral research combines policy and institutional analysis “from above” with qualitative, collaborative work “from below” with NGOs, universities, activists, and (formerly) incarcerated individuals, focusing on media practices, prison tablets and platforms, and the circulation of prison-based knowledge.
