Abstract:
The study presents the use of digital educational technologies (DET) with a special focus on the integration of the Nearpod platform in the context of improving the language skills and intercultural competence of primary school students. The main objective of this study is to determine the productivity of the dialogic digital environment in developing language skills and intercultural communication in the foreign language educational environment of primary school students. The experiment was conducted with a total of 287 respondents divided into experimental and control groups. Participants of the experimental group were taught using Nearpod, while participants in the control group continued to study using the traditional teaching method. Analysis of the extracted data showed that students in the experimental group achieved the highest level of improvement in both language skills and intercultural competence compared to the respondents in the control group. Based on the data, DET, mainly the Nearpod platform, has high potential as a teaching tool for intercultural competence and language skills in primary education.
