Deepak Ojha is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, India. He did an M.Phil. in sociology from the Delhi School of Economics and a master’s degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His work explores the intersection of digital technology, consumption culture, and religious practices in the era of neoliberalism and rapid technological changes. It explores the transformation of Hindu temples and ritual in the digital age and reviews several issues concerning legitimacy, innovation, the role of authority, and the validity of online worship in the digital age.
